One Hundred Kisses Greetings Card

Our ‘One Hundred Kisses’ card, depicting an original artwork from the Stained Glass Museum collection.

Stained-glass artist Harcourt Doyle created the ‘One Hundred Kisses’ roundel as a wedding gift to his parents. Depicting a scene from the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale ‘The Swineherd,’ the glass shows a Princess exchanging 100 kisses for a magical musical rattle whose sound had entranced her. The story ends badly! However, the glass remains a romantic memento of two lives shared, showing the artist’s whimsical portrayal of a relationship at its beginning.
