Opal Seabrook creates bold, colourful artworks and ornaments in glass, where the gloss and sparkle of her material references the shiny surface appeal of pop culture.

Styles of art, media and fashion that were once futuristic but whose modernity now appears retro are a common theme in Opal’s work. The imagery she uses is often playful, familiar from the science fiction and superheroes found in mid-20^th century comics and tv shows.

Using a range of glass fusing, painting, printing and sgraffito techniques, Opal’s pieces are all one-of-a-kind, made by hand at her studio in Hertfordshire.
