Spitfires Greetings Card

This greeting card is printed with a design from our Museum collection and left blank inside for your own message. 

'Spitfires' was designed by renowned stained glass artist Brian Clarke. Made in 2017, the panel is an example of modern glass techniques, using water-jet cutting, laminating and ceramic glaze-printing to create its striking image of iconic British aircraft. Spitfires are a recurring motif in Clarke's work. Born in the north of England just after World War II, Clarke was interested in how the image of the Spitfire endured in the nation's memory as a symbol of heroism, heraldry, and as a haunting.
