This book contains full-size templates for 16 stained glass designs, each of which can be used in building a number of decorative, useful projects. The possibilities range from a simple hanging panel with one of the less complicated designs to, perhaps, an elaborate three-dimensional candle holder with a larger and more challenging pattern. After brief instructions on basic technique and on building two of the easiest stained glass items, the text will discuss each pattern and its potential in greater detail.
The 16 designs on the templates are arranged in order of increasing difficulty. But, in spite of the implied simplicity of the first design, this is not a comprehensive introduction to stained glass work or history. It is assumed that the reader has at least some familiarity with the tools called for and with the operations of cutting glass and soldering. For those who need a brief review, a list of materials and an outline of the basic construction processes are included.
This is a second-hand book. All proceeds go directly to supporting the only museum of stained glass in the UK.
