Trevor Woods

Trevor Woods is a painter and sculptor based in North Norfolk whose work explores the elemental in landscapes and cityscapes.

His art evolves from how it feels to be immersed in natural and built environments, noticing how time, seasons, weather and atmosphere interact with material. A diverse range of locations informs his work. From the panoramic openness of the Norfolk coast; to Iceland’s dramatic contrasts of ice and fire; to the rugged pre-historic rocks of Skye; to the soft earth and drifting mists of Scotland’s west coast; to the monumental concrete shapes of Brutalist city architecture; Trevor abstracts to an essence his experience of these places. His work can be seen as visual poems, using colour, light, shadow and substance to distil the complexity of environment.
