Ann Benwell

Working within sight of Ely Cathedral, Ann Benwell creates decorative glass directly informed by her experience of this beautiful building and its spiritual purpose.

Her copper foiled angels have timeless appeal. Made with iridescent wings and coloured skirts, Ann carefully selects her materials, often choosing mouth blown glass for the natural swirls, bubbles and textures that allow her angels to refract and cast light wherever they are placed. Silver wire halos mean the angels can be displayed hanging, while smaller angels can be hung or stood upright on their solid glass base.  

Ann also works with fused glass, enjoying combining contrasting colours to create Holding Crosses, each embellished with a jewel-like glass stone.
